Welcome to AFC Lightning
We are a family-friendly local football club based at Great Missenden in South Buckinghamshire, playing and training in the beautiful surroundings of The Misbourne School in Great Missenden (U6s to U13s & U16 Girls), at Lightning Park in Cryers Hill (U14s to U15s) and at Magnolia Park in Hughenden (U18s Youth Team).
We have over 200 children playing in our various teams, aged between 4 and 18 years old. Since forming in April 2005 - formerly we were called AFC Holmer Green - we've made great progress in establishing ourselves as one of the region's clubs, welcoming players (boys and girls) of all abilities and from all areas.
We are affiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA and play in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference (U7s to U11s), the Wycombe and South Bucks Minor Football League (U12s to U16s), the Bucks Girls Football League (U16s) and the South Bucks Youth League (U17s & U18s). We are an FA Charter Standard club and all our team managers are certified to at least FA Level 1.
U13s go to Thame for the final of the Dick Hopkins Memorial Cup
U13s Manager Sean Mcandrew said:
"This is a great day for AFC Lightning as a club. The u13s so deserve their Final - we train extremely hard and put all the work into match days. We have some fantastic back-room staff in Graham, Mal & Gary who bring a wealth of football knowledge to the boys. We will be facing Chalfont Wasps."
