A message from Charles Wells

Each year Charles Wells employees and visitors raise thousands of pounds for our chosen charities, and this year is no exception...

2015 marks the first ever 'Charles Wells Cycle Challenge' and we've gone in big! In June, just over 20 of us will be cycling from the Charles Wells managed hotel and restaurant, the d'Parys located on De Parys Avenue in Bedford, all the way to the actual Paris in France...that's around 336 miles (or 540 kilometres). And what's more, we've given ourselves just four days to do this.

What about the people doing it? Our group is made up of a real assortment of people ranging from those who like a decent road-ride every weekend to those who haven't ridden a bike in about 10 years. As you can imagine some of us have a LOT further to go with our training than others to get up to speed. Especially considering our first day of the challenge requires us to ride just over 100 miles. Ouch! But it's all for a great cause (or two) and with that at the forefront of our minds we are all pushing hard to get the miles in and rack up some decent saddle time between now and June.

What do we need from you? Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to our charities, St. John's Hospice in Moggerhanger (Sue Ryder) and MacMillan Cancer Support. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

Lastly, we all really appreciate your support for this and whether you can donate £10 or £1,000 it doesn't matter as each and every penny goes towards helping the charities with the challenges that they face on a daily basis. So from the bottom of all 20-something of our hearts, thank you, and to help us towards making a difference please click here.
